Akava and TEK do not accept the proposed changes to dismissal on personal grounds

Akava (Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland) and TEK as its member union do not approve of the Government's proposed legislative amendments concerning the dismissal of employees on personal grounds. According to the proposal, a valid reason would suffice for terminating an employment contract in the future. Akava and TEK emphasise that current legislation and established case law provide a basis for employee job security.

JUKO, Pro and JHL as well as employer organisation Finnish Education Employers have accepted the proposal by National Conciliator Anu Sajavaara to resolve the university labour dispute.
