The National Conciliator issued a settlement proposal in the labour dispute affecting the universities of applied sciences on Thursday, 10 September. Today, YTN, OAJ and Sivista have all accepted the proposal.
The new collective agreement for universities of applied sciences enters into force on 11 September 2026. The agreement is valid for three years and remains in force until 31 March 2029.
Unless a local salary settlement is reached, salaries will be increased as follows:
Expert and Support Staff
- From 1 October 2026: a 2.2% general increase and a 0.7% local increment.
- From 1 April 2027: a 2.0% general increase and a 0.4% local increment.
The parties will primarily seek to agree on the salary adjustments for 2028. If no agreement on the 2028 salary increases is reached by 15 March 2028, the 2028 salary adjustments will be determined in line with comparable sectors. However, the allocation of the increases has already been agreed as follows: 70% as a general increase and 30% as a local increment.
Teaching Staff
- From 1 October 2026: a 2.2% general increase and a 0.7% adjustment increment.
- From 1 April 2027: a 1.6% general increase and a 0.8% adjustment increment.
The parties will primarily seek to agree on the salary adjustments for 2028. If no agreement on the 2028 salary increases is reached by 15 March 2028, the 2028 salary adjustments will be determined in line with comparable sectors. However, the allocation of the increases has already been agreed as follows: 60% as a general increase, 30% as an adjustment increment and 10% as a local increment.
The adjustment increment for teaching staff will be used to increase the salary scales of teachers assigned to fields of education other than engineering and transport.
