What is TEK?

TEK is a Finnish trade union for academic engineers, architects, computer scientists and STEM experts, as well as university students of these fields.

In Finland, trade unions work closely with the employers’ organisations to ensure that the Finnish market is open, fair and competitive. On a personal level, this means that we negotiate the framework for employment conditions and salaries on your behalf, to make sure you have fair working conditions.

We are a professional organisation that supports you in your career. We provide legal advice, salary advice and career coaching to our members. By becoming a member, you will have access to our experts, who can advise you on any issues regarding your work life in Finland.

Spring council focused on TEK members’ working life

The council discussed the employment situation and recent legislative changes. The removal of “a weighty reason” from the grounds for dismissal does not currently seem to affect TEK members broadly. The council approved TEK’s financial statements and annual report and confirmed the student representatives for 2026.
