Blog: Unemployment among engineering graduates at an alarming level
The rise in unemployment among graduate engineers has been staggering. Since 2022, the number of unemployed graduate engineers has risen inexorably from around 1,700 to over 3,300. Unemployment among TEK members is significantly lower than the average for the profession, writes TEK’s CEO, Jari Jokinen.

International Technology Expert Survey
ITE survey is conducted every two years. The aim is to bring the voices of the international technology experts living in Finland into the public debate around the future of Finland and the technology industry. In addition, the survey is used in the wider development of the advocacy work conducted by TEK and the Association of Professional Engineers in Finland (Insinööriliitto).

Newly graduated academic engineers and architects remain satisfied with their degrees. Among those who graduated in 2025, 89% of academic engineers and architects say they would choose the same degree again. Satisfaction was particularly high among graduates with a university of applied sciences background.
