Who can vote?

You can vote if you are a full or pensioner member of TEK or a full or pensioner member of TFiF-TEK, and your membership has been valid on 1 January 2026. TEK members also include dual members (full and pensioner members). Student members cannot be candidates or vote in the elections, but the council's student representatives are chosen through local associations in university cities.

How can I vote?

TEK’s council elections in 2026 will be the first fully electronic election, meaning you can only vote electronically.

The voting period begins on Friday, March 13 at 12.00 noon and ends on Monday, March 30 at 12.00 noon.

You can vote electronically on a separate voting site.

When voting electronically, you can confirm your identity with a Finnish online banking ID, a mobile certificate or in two steps by entering an email address or a phone number to which we will send a separate code. You can log in to the voting page using the code. Please note that the email or telephone number must match the information you have provided in OmaTEK membership portal. If you update your details during the voting period, please note that there may be a delay of a couple of days in transferring your details.

Who can I vote for?

All candidates have been compiled into a candidate list. You can also get to know the candidates through the election compass. The election compass will help you easily find the candidate whose values and views best match yours. You can also filter candidates with different criteria.

Open the compass

When you vote, you may only vote for a candidate in your electoral area. Your electoral area is determined by your home municipality info in TEK's member register on 1 January 2026. If you live outside Finland, you can vote for a candidate in any electoral area. TFiF-TEK members may only vote for candidates in TFiF's constituency.

As a TEK member (not TFiF–TEK), you can check your electoral area by entering the postal code of your place of residence below. Please note that the correct area will appear only after you have entered the full postal code (five digits).
