Electronic voting opens at 12.00 on 13 March and closes at 12.00 on 30 March. We will send a link to all eligible voters when electronic voting begins. The link will also be available on the election website.
You are eligible to vote if you are a full or pensioner member of TEK or a full or pensioner member of TFiF-TEK; your membership must have been valid on 1 January 2026. Every vote counts, and a single vote may decide who wins a seat at the council.
You must identify yourself during voting, either with online banking identification, a mobile ID or with two-factor identification using the e-mail address or phone number you have registered in OmaTEK. You can check and update your information before voting begins at www.tek.fi/en/omatek.
The election results will be published by 15.00 on 1 April. The new council will begin its three-year term in September 2026.

Elections in a nutshell
What?
The TEK General Council is elected by TEK’s members every three years. The next council will be elected for the 2026–2029 term.
The council has 70 members, i.e. delegates, who exercise the highest decision-making power at TEK and represent the members. Of the delegates, 66 are members of Tekniikan Akateemiset ry and four are members of Tekniska Föreningen i Finland TFiF r.f. (Engineering Society in Finland for Swedish speakers). In addition, the council has seven seats for student representatives. The student representatives are not elected in the council elections; instead, they are selected through local associations in university cities for one calendar year at a time.

Why?
The elections are democratic decision-making at its finest. Delegates are elected to the council from among TEK and TFiF-TEK members, and are tasked with contributing to the development of TEK’s activities. They decide on the TEK’s operational priorities and suggest initiatives for new policies. At the beginning of its term, the new council makes a council agreement that guides TEK’s activities for the next three years.
Who can I vote for?
