Are you acting as an electoral officer for your electoral alliance? On this page, you will find details about the election process and schedule.

Orientation for electoral officers on 13th January from 17.00 to 19.00

We will organise an online orientation session in Finnish for all electoral officers. We will send the link to those electoral officers named in the electoral alliance agreement document. If you haven't received the Teams link, please contact vaalit@tek.fi.

Reviewing TEK’s membership list 18 Nov 2025 – 9 Feb 2026

Representatives of council groups or electoral alliances may review TEK’s membership list in accordance with the Associations Act. The list shows the members' names and home municipalities and is available on two password-protected tablets.

One tablet is available throughout the nomination period at TEK’s Pasila Lounge during office hours. Please book your visit in advance by email: keskus@tek.fi.

The other tablet can be viewed at TEK’s regional offices (Tampere, Turku, Lappeenranta, Oulu) by agreement. Please arrange your visit well in advance, as the tablet must be delivered to the office and a TEK expert must be present during the review. See regional office contact details here.

Please note that photographing or filming the list is prohibited. You may take notes.

Election programs to TEK's communication team by 11 Feb

We will present the election programs of alliances and coalitions in the second TEK-lehti of 2026, published on 20 March. Programs will also be published on tek.fi.

Electoral alliances and coalitions must submit their programs by 11 Feb to TEK's communication team: heidi.tomperi@tek.fi. A preview of the layout will be sent by 27 Feb for comments, and feedback must be provided by 4 Mar. If communications do not receive a confirmation, the preview version will be published.

Instructions:

Maximum length: 2,000 characters (including punctuation and spaces). If exceeded, communications will shorten the text.
Programs published in TEK magazine will be translated into English or Finnish for online publication. You may submit the printed version in any language.
Include: alliance name, logo (optional), electoral officer’s name, and optionally a link for more information (website, social media). Image size should be at least 500 KB, in color or black and white. If no logo is provided, the reserved space will remain empty.
Programs delivered to the communications team will be published in the order drawn by the election committee.

Candidate schedule

9 Jan 12.00 – 9 Feb 12.00: Candidate nomination period.
11 Feb: Candidates receive confirmation and their candidate details by email.
25 Feb by 12.00: Candidate details must be checked. Candidate information will be printed, among other places, in TEK’s candidate compilation list, and no changes can be made after this deadline.
26 Feb: Candidate numbers sent to the candidates.
26 Feb 12.00 – 13 Mar 12.00: Election compass open for candidates.
13 Mar 12.00 – 30 Mar 12.00: Electronic voting period.
1 Apr by 15.00: Election results published.

Election quarantine in TEK's communications

During the election, TEK's communication team will observe a quarantine on all TEK social media channels:

TEK will not react/share/like any content related to TEK elections by anyone or any account.
From 11 Feb onwards, TEK will not react/share/like content from candidates, even if unrelated to elections.
Exceptions to the above are clear questions answered at TEK’s discretion.
Appropriate comments related to TEK elections on TEK’s own posts will not be removed.
TEK's Facebook groups are not election platforms; posts about elections by other accounts than TEK's own will be moderated.
TEK-founded regional groups may set their own rules.

Election timeline 2026

1 Jan: Voting rights and eligibility determined. Eligible to vote and stand as a candidate are full and pensioner members of Tekniikan Akateemiset ry, as well as full and pensioner TFiF-TEK members of Tekniska Föreningen i Finland r.f., whose membership has been valid as of 1 January 2026.
9 Jan 12.00: Candidate nomination begins.
9–23 Jan: Appeal period for candidacy and voting eligibility.
9 Feb 12.00: Candidate nomination ends. The electronic candidate nomination tool is available throughout the entire nomination period.
9 Feb by 12.00, electoral alliances must return the signed agreement document, a possible coalition agreement document, and the candidate list to TEK’s office. Read detailed instructions here.
11 Feb: Candidates receive a confirmation email and their candidate details.
11 Feb: Electoral alliances and coalitions must submit their programs by 11 Feb to TEK's communication team: heidi.tomperi@tek.fi. 25 Feb by 12.00: Candidates must check their candidate information from the email sent on 11 Feb. If you do not receive the email or wish to change your details, please contact: vaalit@tek.fi.
25 Feb: Election committee approves candidate lists and assigns candidate numbers.
26 Feb: Candidate numbers are sent to the candidates.
26 Feb 12.00 – 13 Mar 12.00: Election compass open for candidates.
13 Mar 12.00: Electronic voting begins.
13 Mar: Election compass opens to public.
20 Mar: TEK-lehti issue 2/26 published.
30 Mar 12.00: Electronic voting ends.
1 Apr by 15.00: Results published.
