The next TEK council elections will be held in spring 2026. If you have a little election fever or the flame of enthusiasm is already burning, learn the basics of council work here and prepare for the electoral term.

What is a general council?

A group of approximately 70 people who exercise the highest decision-making power at TEK and represent the members. The exact size of the future council will be confirmed before the elections.

What does a councillor do?

A councillor contributes to the development of TEK's operations, in practice by participating in council meetings and in the activities of their own council group. At council meetings, the councillors decide on TEK's operational priorities and can make initiatives in new directions. The council usually meets twice a year for 1–2 days.

Why is it worth running for council?

As a TEK councillor, you are part of a top team that includes professionals from various fields of technology and natural sciences. You'll get to delve behind the scenes of the labour market through interesting speeches and discussions – this information you won't get anywhere else! At the meetings, you’ll hear reviews of TEK's operations and, more broadly, our country's economy and labour market. Naturally you’ll also be able to influence your own affairs as a TEK member and decide on TEK's future.

How do I stand as a candidate?

If you are a full or pensioner member of TEK or a full or pensioner member of TFiF-TEK, you can stand as a candidate as long as your membership is valid on 1 January 2026, when the nomination period begins. Electronic voting for the council elections will take place in March 2026. Student members do not participate in elections, but student representatives are elected through a different process each calendar year.
