
Respondent demographics

- The highest salary at graduation is for industrial management students. Their median salary is €4,000 per month.
- The most satisfied with their degree are those who studied industrial management, with 85% of them saying they would choose the same degree again.
- Of the graduates, 58% completed their thesis in collaboration with an external organisation. The situation was worst for those from outside the EU. Up to a third of them completed their thesis without a partner. The most theses outside the university were done in mechanical and energy engineering.
- Integration into the university community was most successful for those studying process and materials engineering, industrial management, and architecture. Of them, 60% became part of the university community in the way they wanted. It was rarest for ICT students, with a corresponding proportion of 48%.
- The weakened employment situation of recent graduates was reflected in the responses. 74% had a job or knew where they would be employed after graduation, which was the lowest figure in years. The best situation was for industrial management graduates.

How the survey was conducted
The TEK Graduate Survey was conducted among academic engineers and architects around Finland who graduated in 2024. A total of 2,457 graduates answered the survey. This is 62% of all the academic engineers and architects who graduated in 2024. TEK conducted the survey in cooperation with Finnish universities in the field of technology. The feedback survey is part of the ongoing cooperation between TEK and universities of technology.
