The rise in unemployment among graduate engineers has been staggering. Since 2022, the number of unemployed graduate engineers has risen inexorably from around 1,700 to over 3,300. Unemployment among TEK members is significantly lower than the average for the profession, writes TEK’s CEO, Jari Jokinen.

The feedback on our services has been excellent (NPS 76) — the kind of result that any service provider can be proud of. Among all members, nearly one in five used our services, which is also a strong figure.

The greatest threat to the system, in my opinion, is politicians.

In Finland, we should be creating more work that is so productive that it is worth paying generously for and also taking good care of the people behind it.

It is important for EU institutions to have a good understanding of the conditions and situation in Finland as well.

Many key terms and conditions are laid down in collective agreements and not in, say, the Finnish law.

The economic forecast for Finland is foggy, to say the least.

There’s also good reason to ask if everything is okay with our primary education.

It would not be such a bad idea to transfer state-owned shares to universities where their return would provide sustainable funding without having to remain within the state expenditure framework.
