Less than half of the respondents of the 2025 International Technology Expert Survey by TEK and Insinööriliitto stated they intend to stay in Finland permanently, a sharp drop even from 2024. Similarly, as many as half of international technology graduates leave Finland within five years of their graduation. Rather than attraction, retention has become a major problem.

Behind the problem are many factors, but ultimately it comes down to two simple questions - what keeps someone in Finland, and how can we build up those factors to help more people stay?

At this discussion, the answers to those questions aim to be highlighted by bringing together international members to share their stories. There are spaces for 15 participants in the discussion. If needed, participants will be selected in order to try and ensure a good quality and varied discussion.
