Teekkari history. Finland’s first television broadcast was made from the Helsinki University of Technology’s radio laboratory on 24 May 1955.

Over 80 per cent of students in the field of technology agree they feel accepted, can be themselves, and perceive the atmosphere of the guild or the degree association as good. The guilds have successfully deployed practices supporting equity. The 15-year wait of the Otaniemi teekkari community was rewarded in early November, when the community ceremonially introduced the new polyteekkari flag at the 153rd Teekkari Tradition Ball. The previous flag that had united the teekkaris of Otaniemi was the flag of the Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology, which served the community from 1909 to 2009 and was laid to its well-earned rest with the founding of the Aalto University Student Union. This is how the new flag came into being.

The winning jäynä tackled a timely question: How does our ability to concentrate vary across different settings?

Once again this year, you can celebrate the week leading up to May Day (Wappu or Vappu in Finnish) in Oulu by getting on board the Wesibussi. The proceeds from tickets go to the patients of the children’s hospital.
