TEK's member service manages inquiries regarding membership and membership fees. The member service processes new and terminating memberships and manages member information, magazine subscriptions and membership fee invoicing.

Members typically contact TEK’s member service when they face a change in life – they are about to go on family leave, for instance, or transition from an employee to an entrepreneur – and want to know how the change will affect their membership fee. The member service also provides advice to members on questions regarding unemployment security and the services and benefits offered by TEK.

Manager Satu Taivainen supervises member service team and is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of services to members and developing the customer experience.

“Over the past few years, we’ve given a lot of attention to developing the service experience of our members. We’ve listened to the feedback from our members, reorganised our service processes and our customer journeys to be more member-oriented and modernised our service interactions,” she says.

Developing seamless multichannel interactions has required both new ways of working and the use of modern customer service tools. This development has enabled the more effective management of member contacts via different channels.

“The goal of developing our digital communication channels and services has been to make them as easy as possible to use for our members. You can manage your personal information, view open invoices and contact the experts of TEK via the communication channel – all in one place, the OmaTEK member portal.”

The member service team is also responsible for maintaining and developing the register of members that contains the information of almost 80 000 members.

“Every year, we also carry out various types of call projects and try to reach members as their membership status changes, such as when they graduate,” says Taivainen.
