We introduce nine women in the field of technology who are driving change. These nine experts were Finland’s finalists in this year’s Nordic Women in Tech Awards. Here is one of them.

  • COO & Founder, Moder Oy
  • Entrepreneur of the Year, winner

I get excited when I see an opportunity to solve a genuine problem in a better way. Technology gives the hospitality industry the tools to operate more intelligently and more sustainably.

We founded Moder, a modern resort and hotel management system that helps hospitality businesses manage accommodation, activities, rentals, and restaurant services on a single platform. We built the company from scratch as a fully remote team and created an internationally growing travel technology company that won the World’s Best Hotel Tech Startup award in 2024.

From the start, we wanted to build a company where individuals and diversity are seen as strengths, and a workplace we ourselves would always have wanted to work in. For us, it wasn't only about developing software, but also about creating a new kind of company culture and shaping the future of the hospitality industry.

I want to show that success comes from strategy, perseverance, and humane leadership, not just from growth curves.

When I started as an entrepreneur in the technology sector, I didn’t think of myself as a “female leader” - I was simply building something I believed in. Only later did I realise how important it is who gets seen. The doors to the technology sector do not always open on their own, and that is precisely why role models and visibility are so important. I want to show the next generation that leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship do not belong to one gender or one “right” type of person.
