The entrepreneur members of TEK who have used TEK’s services are satisfied with them.

The average annual income of full-time entrepreneur members of the Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK increased by nearly 10 percent over one year to almost 79,400 euros, according to TEK’s labour market survey. The median income remained the same as in 2021.

The average price of an invoiced day increased significantly for full-time entrepreneurs. The average price was almost 1,100 euros in 2022, compared to roughly 700 euros the year before.

“The increase concerns average income, so it could be that the income of a small group of people has increased substantially, but remained more or less the same for others. This is also suggested by the fact that the median income remained unchanged. The same goes for the price of an invoiced day. Certainly, the situation may have improved, but the unchanged median income would indicate that this is not the case, at least not for everyone,” says Expert in Entrepreneurship at TEK Martti Kivioja.

According to Kivioja, the entrepreneur members of TEK who have used TEK’s services are satisfied with them.

“Based on the feedback, entrepreneurs found the services most helpful when they were starting a business or considering entrepreneurship. The tips offered by TEK’s lawyers when negotiating contracts have also been received with gratitude.”

More than half of the entrepreneurs who had used the services had used the information on TEK's website and roughly 40 percent had participated in webinars. The next most popular services were individual advice and the guides. Many of the respondents had not used the services, often because they were not aware of them.

“We also received some criticism. One comment mentioned that the services are too Helsinki-oriented and the respondent felt that in TEK's view there are no entrepreneurs anywhere else in Finland. This was a bit puzzling, because everything is accessible online or by phone, no matter where you are. Our training events have been organized as webinars and our other events are streamed specifically so that anyone can view them wherever they are,” says Kivioja.
