Welcome to TEK's Science Day for families at the Tampere University, in the upper lobby of the Festia building (Korkeakoulunkatu 8).

Choose the day that suits you best: Saturday 31.10., Sunday 1.11., Saturday 14.11. or Sunday 15.11.

The program includes science workshops, i.e. fun science with real researcher equipment. Science workshops are best suited for children between ages 3 to 10. The event will also feature the charming Tutkija Pii (Scientist Pi) with her funny science presentation (in Finnish).

At the photonics station, you’ll learn how rainbows are formed and even create your own rainbow. Explore colorful shadows and take vibrant photos, then use light microscopes to discover the tiniest details. In the escape room challenge, you'll search for hidden numbers using lights, lasers, mirrors, color filters, and polarization films.

Photonics is a top field of research and education at Tampere University.

Coffee/tea, juice and snacks are available at the event. 

You can arrive at the event and participate in the science workshops freely according to your own schedule between 12.00 and 15.00. Tutkija Pii's science show is from 13.15 to 13.45.
