The programme starts in November 2026 and ends in May 2027.

• The programme consists mainly of one-to-one discussions between mentor and mentee. We recommend meeting about once a month, meaning at least six confidential mentoring sessions during the six-month programme.
• The process is supported by joint events for all participants. These events provide information about mentoring, guidance for successful mentoring, and inspiration for the one-to-one discussions.
• The programme begins with a kick-off event, offering practical tips for starting the mentoring journey.
• Programme events are organised in both Finnish and English. Invitations are based on the mentoring pair’s shared working language. Detailed schedules and content will be shared in October with selected participants.
• Participants also have access to materials to support their mentoring journey. TEK career coaches are available to support participants throughout the programme.

Mentor:

• You want to dedicate about one hour per month to support another professional, for example in career development, exploring next career steps, or clarifying direction in working life. International participants often also appreciate insights into Finnish working culture.
• In addition to supporting your mentee, you will also learn and gain new perspectives yourself.
• No previous mentoring experience is required. Participants are supported through joint sessions and materials. An open mindset and commitment to the six-month programme are most important.

Mentee:

• You are a full member of TEK and have completed your degree.
• You are looking for support in areas such as strengthening your professional identity, identifying your strengths, planning your career, or discussing work-related challenges with a more experienced professional.
• You are ready to commit to a six-month programme, reflect openly, and explore your career from different perspectives.
• The programme is based on coaching-oriented mentoring, where the process is built around the mentee’s goals. The mentee plays an active role in driving the process, so it is important to consider your goals already when applying.

Due to the nature of the programme, all participants are expected to commit to the full six-month duration, including approximately six mentoring sessions and participation in joint events.

Mentees must maintain full membership of TEK throughout the programme. Mentors may be full members of TEK or otherwise experienced professionals suitable for mentoring TEK members.
