TEK's election

The next TEK council elections will be held in spring 2026. If you have a little election fever or the flame of enthusiasm is already burning, learn the basics of council work here and prepare for the electoral term.

At its meeting in Tampere on Friday, 21st March, the General Council of the Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK elected PhD Arto Timperi as the chair of TEK’s board.

Mari-Leena Talvitie, chair of TEK's board, will become Minister for Science and Culture in January. TEK's General Council will elect a new chair at the spring council in March.

The autumn meeting of TEK's General Council was held on 14-15 November 2024 at Original Sokos Hotel Tripla, Helsinki. The meeting was full of important decisions and topical reviews that will guide the organisation's activities in the coming year.

The duties of TEK's chair can be divided into TEK activities and other advocacy efforts. Board activities are governed by values, the council agreement and the annual budget and plan.

The autumn meeting of TEK’s General Council was held in Tripla, Pasila, 23–24 November. The Council Arena was organised for the first time in conjunction with the meeting.

Ensuring a proper salary level for TEK members is one of the main objectives of our advocacy.

The General Council of Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK has re-elected Master of Science in Technology and Member of Parliament Mari-Leena Talvitie as the chair of TEK’s board. Talvitie wants TEK to continue promoting equality and dismantling discriminatory structures in working life.
