Work life regulation course and lunch
At the end of October TEK and the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland (IL) are organising events in Oulu regarding work life regulation. Read more on the events below and sign up!
Welcome to Working life regulation course on October 28th!
Time: Wednesday October 28th, 17.00-20.00
Place: the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland's office in Oulu, Hallituskatu 29 A
In this course you will learn the basics of labour law regulation in Finland.
For example, law regulates what could and should be in your employment contract, what is a trial period, what should you agree or not to agree on a non-competition agreement, how and on what grounds you can be temporarily laid-off and on what grounds you can and cannot be legally laid-off. You will also learn how working hours are regulated and how annual holiday is accrued.
We will learn through discussion and looking into things together in an interactive manner. The aim of this course is to ensure that you can navigate better in the legal jungle of Finnish working life, and you know your rights and how things should be done. You will also have a chance to meet other technology professionals in your area.
While signing up for the event, please fill in your date of birth in the "Member number or date of birth" field and in the "Member organisation" field type TEK.
Welcome to a lunch meeting with a lawyer on October 29th!
1st lunch: 10.30 Lounaskahvila Kirsikka, Tapsitie 5 (near Nokia), Oulu
2nd lunch: 12.00 Restaurant Galaksi, Pikisaari cabinet, Elektroniikkatie 10
Come and learn about the basic labour law regulation in Finland, what could and should be in your employment contract and why collective agreements are so important, among other things. We organise two separate lunches with the same agenda.
The expert speaker is Ms. Maria Jauhiainen, a lawyer from IL (the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland). She has worked as a trade union lawyer specialising in labour law for over 15 years. She will also be happy to answer any questions you might have now or during the lunch.
This lunch is a great opportunity to meet other technology experts living in your area. IT-sector specialists from IL and TEK will also be present. Non-members are also welcome to join, so feel free to tell your friends about this event!
However, please remember the COVID-19 rules: we ask you not to participate if you feel sick at all.
