UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE FROM THE KOKO FUND THROUGH TEK

Most of TEK’s full members are insured against unemployment in The Unemployment fund for highly educated KOKO, which entitles them to earnings-related unemployment benefit. The unemployment fund membership fee is included in the full TEK membership fee.

The fund membership fee is 66 € (5,50 € / month, 2021) for the whole year (for students as well). Join the fund by adding the membership to your own membership information at oma.tek.fi portal or by sending a request to member(ät)tek.fi. To join the fund you must be employed.

Please check with us if you have any doubts as to whether you belong to the fund or not. You can check your membership by emailing the TEK membership register (member(ät)tek.fi), please remember to attach as an identification either your membership number or date of birth.

Join the fund as a student

Ensure your earnings-related unemployment security already during your studies. You can join KOKO when you are employed. You can become a fund member, for example, on the first day of your summer job. By joining the KOKO fund already during your studies, you can secure your finances and focus on finding a job in peace after graduation. Accumulation of the employment condition starts from the date of accession, not retroactively.

Join the fund by adding the membership to your own membership information at TEK online service or by sending a request to member(ät)tek.fi. Please remember to attach as an identification either your membership number or date of birth.

Unemployment insurance for entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs are not entitled to receive earnings-related benefits from the wage earners' fund (such as KOKO). More information on unemployment insurance for entrepreneurs and the self-employed is available at SYT-kassa's website (www.syt.fi). Entrepreneurs who become employees must inform the TEK membership register themselves if they wish to join KOKO fund.
