Discounted membership fees

Discounts may be granted from the regular TEK membership fee. See the terms and conditions.

Discounts may be granted from the full TEK membership fee on the grounds specified below, provided that the total membership fee does not fall below the prescribed minimum of EUR 117 per year (EUR 9,75/month) for a member of the unemployment fund or EUR 51 per year for other TEK members.

Applications for concessionary membership fees may be submitted in writing to the membership register as an informal letter specifying the name of the applicant, the grounds for the requested concession, and the date on which the concession will begin and end. Documentation of the grounds for the concession must also be included in the application.

The application may be submitted to TEK by e-mail member(ät)tek.fi.

To be eligible for a concession, the grounds must continue for an uninterrupted period of not less than three months. A concession may be granted retroactively only from the beginning of the same calendar year and must arrive at TEK by no later than 31 December. The concession for spouses nevertheless always takes effect as of the start of the month following the application.

TEK must be notified if the grounds for a concession cease before the end of the concessionary period granted. A concession ends when the concessionary grounds expire.

Part-time leaves of absence (e.g. part-time retirement, partial child care leave, part-time work) do not entitle a member to concessionary membership fees.

Spousal concession

A regular member of TEK whose married or unmarried spouse is also a regular member may be granted an annual concessionary reduction of EUR 69 (EUR 5,75/month) in the membership fee. Unmarried spouses must have the same home address.
Only the spouse paying the full membership fee may receive a subsidised magazine.
The application must specify the name, date of birth and address of the applicant and spouse.
The application may be submitted to the membership register by e-mail.
