The Finnish Engineering Award

Award is given as an acknowledgement of a notable engineering or architectural work which has remarkably advanced technical competence in Finland.

Since 1981 have TEK and TFiF together given out The Finnish Engineering Award. Award is given as an acknowledgement of a notable engineering or architectural work which has remarkably advanced technical competence in Finland. Basic evaluation criteria are distinctiveness of the work, creative contribution and practical application of the idea or the theory. Also commercial influences and influences on the national economy are taken into consideration. Prize is a certificate of honor and a monetary prize (30 000 euros).

Nominations of the candidates for an award can be made by any private person, business or community. They can be made on a formula available at TEK´s office by the end of January each year. Nominations are handled by the committee for technology at TEK and TFiF using help of outside professionals if needed.
